Oshawa Tournament Registrations Required!

Oshawa karate tournament 2014
It is that time of year again to consider attending the annual Oshawa Wado Kai Children's Invitational Tournament on December 13, 2014.

The tournament will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the YWCA Centre, 1 McGrigor Street, Oshawa, ON.

For the second year, Oshawa is using an online registration that you can go to by clicking here.

All participants must complete the online form, print a copy and bring it with you to the tournament. Waivers must be signed by a parent or guardian.

The tournament will only accept pre-registered participants. If you’re interested in attending, the deadline is December 1, 2014, but if you have not yet submitted your registration, please do so as soon as possible. Ensure that a copy of the registration is printed, signed by a parent or guardian, and brought to the registration desk at the tournament on December 13, 2014.

We are once again offering a super duper Raffle table. The monies garnered by the raffle get put back into the Oshawa Whitby club to help offset costs that arise from time to time. This includes registration fees and the cost of purchasing a gi for any students who require this particular assistance.

Hot dogs, soft drinks and water will be available to purchase at the tournament.

In support of the YWCA, we will accept a non-perishable food item or new toy.

If you have any questions, please ask Sensei Eric or Sensei Julie at class, or call us at 416-410-3273.

Tournament Saturday, October 25

2014FallTournamentFlyer
Toronto Wado-Kai’s fall tournament will be held Saturday, October 25 at the Thornhill Community Centre (corner of Bayview Avenue and John Street in Thornhill).

Even if you don’t plan to compete, this is still worthwhile attending. The tournament starts at 10:00 a.m. If you’re planning to compete, please arrive at 9:30 to warm up.

Coloured belts compete in kata first, then the room is cleared to make way for the black belts. After that, coloured belts compete in sparring. The tournament is usually done by 12:30 p.m.

Sensei Julie and I hope to see you there!

The Annual Oshawa Tournament

2012 oshawa karate tournament
It’s once again time to register for the annual junior karate tournament in Oshawa.

This year, the tournament will be held Saturday, December 8 at the YWCA Durham Family Programs Centre, 1 McGrigor Street, Oshawa, ON. The tournament runs from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Please note that registration is different this year.

Instead of telling Sensei Julie or I that they would like to go, each student registers on his/her own by completing an online form and submitting it individually to the tournament organizers.

If you are not pre-registered, you will not be allowed to compete at the tournament. You must submit your registration by November 30, 2012, in order to participate at the tournament!

Registration Instructions

1. Open the link by clicking here.

2. Fill in the form with your correct information.

3. Print the form so your parents can sign it (a signed form must be submitted at the tournament when you register).

4. Once the form is printed, click “submit” on the bottom to send the form to the tournament organizers.

As always, we’re looking forward to a fantastic tournament. There is no fee to participate or spectate, so everyone is welcome to attend.

Senior belts (shodan-ho and up) are encouraged to help with judging. To register as a judge, complete the registration form above and submit it (you do not need to print it).

A raffle table will be set up with goodies. Hot dogs, soft drinks and water will be available for sale. Tournament organizers are again accepting non-perishable food items or new toys for the YWCA.
